Yardwork

So, this last week was Spring Break for Karen and I, so we went out into our back yard and decided to get it looking more like a normal human's yard rather than the scary mass of vegetation and garbage that it had been.


We started in the Southeast corner of our yard, where sat a large and pernicious sucker-tree. While trimming the tree back and raking out all the foliage and shingles from around its base...







We found a multitude of lovely cookery and crockery, such as this rusted pie tin and an electric frying pot. Look how excited Karen was to get all these new dishes!





We even found highly useful tools, such at this age-old caulking gun and this barely-been-used cement board for tiling our bathroom. Just think of all the savings.






We tore out all of the rusted fences and the trees that were embedded therein....

and we tore out the vines that ran all around our lawn.

We generated about five brush piles that were all at least this big. Needless to say, it was quite a fun week tearing out all of our garbage and weeds.
